Little Creatures Opens Microbrewery in London

13 May 2019: West Australian craft beer brewery, Little Creatures, has found a new London home, launching a 557sqm microbrewery, taproom and restaurant in the UK capital’s vibrant King’s Cross area.

One of Australia’s most famous craft brands, the Lion-owned Little Creatures has gone from strength-to-strength in recent years, increasing its presence overseas with venues now in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Taipei and Auckland.

Newly located in the heart of London’s King’s Cross creative district, the brewery will showcase a selection of Little Creatures’ highly acclaimed craft beers, as well as running special collaborations with London-based breweries such as Fourpure Brewing Co. The location is one of London’s most significant redevelopments, and acts as a key gateway to the UK and further afield to Europe.

Toby Knowles, Lion Regional Director for UK & Europe, said: “We’re proud that a UK home for Little Creatures has been founded in one of the world’s most popular cities, where the brand’s values of individuality, adventure and inclusiveness will be right at home. London has been home to a real renaissance in world-class craft breweries in recent years and it’s exciting to bring Little Creatures to such a vibrant market.”

The UK craft beer market is one of the world’s largest and fastest growing, representing around five per cent of global volume. The venue provides a bricks-and-mortar ‘home’ for Little Creatures, with the freshest beer on tap, matching food, plus the famous West Aussie hospitality. Centred around Little Creatures’ ethos of great beer and good company, its on-site six hectolitre capacity microbrewery sets it apart as a unique craft beer destination. The range of eclectic on-tap beers will be complemented by an extensive food menu, from all-day brunch to sharing platters and gourmet burgers.

Toby Knowles added: “Our aim for this venue is to further enrich the UK craft community, meeting the rising demand for diverse, premium craft experiences. Following the success of recent site launches in Asia, we can’t wait to introduce Little Creatures to UK consumers and to establish a spiritual home for the brand in London.”

The Little Creatures taproom can be found near Granary Square and the new Coal Drops Yard development in King’s Cross – 1 Lewis Cubitt Walk, N1C 4DL. For more information head to the UK website: www.littlecreatures.co.uk.

    About Little Creatures

Little Creatures was formed from a group of mates, all hailing from the beer scene who wanted to brew an awesome, hop-driven American Pale Ale with a distinctive aroma and delicious flavour. Fremantle was to become the home of this beer and the birthplace of Little Creatures. Work began in 1999 and the doors were swung open in late 2000. With momentum growing on the eastside of the land, the team opened a little space in Fitzroy in 2008 until 2013 when they decided to focus on a larger brewery in Geelong as well as launching its first ever canned beer. Now the Australian brand is making its mark in the UK with the launch of its first London taproom and restaurant as well as many other global locations.
